October Reads, Reviews, Thoughts (RRT)

Welcome to this month’s October’s Reads. This month was much less then I had originally planned for. But I guess I was kind of in a reading funk.

First off, a little WARNING… this will have a bit of spoilers… I will try to put a disclaimer before I do them… and make it so you don’t have to worry, but if you like to read a book and don’t know anything… I suggest you go somewhere else.

Secondly, what I choose to read is something for my own entertainment or the support of another author. If you choose to leave negative feedback, and judgement in the way of who I am as a person because of it, then we have problems. This blog is to share what I enjoyed or didn’t and help spread the word for other authors.

Sissyrella by Lilly Lustwood

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love fairy tales, something about the magic involved, that true love always prevails, and in this story both of those things occurred. In such an interesting and 🔥 setting.

It was one of her longer novelettes and it was perfect for me. I really enjoyed it a lot, though I thought the ending would be different, I had assumed something and was taken by surprise!

This book was awesome, and although her “forced” is not that dark, it’s really quite interesting!

Sissy White and The Seven Dwarfs by Lilly Lustwood

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A little girl with pale skin, red lips, and dark black hair… its the true tail of snow white, but as the title reveals, this is a sissy, he was born a boy but on his mother’s death bed she wished for a girl and to make her boy believe he is a girl.

It was an interesting tale, taking me on a variety of unexpected turns. I really enjoyed this story, the author had me sold as I do love fairy tales.

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Steadily through the course of the book, my brain screamed 4 stars… now I will tell you the ending and the last 1/4 of the book brought me to this rating.

This book was filled with magic, and adventure. I was really enjoying it, and although I haven’t read book one and had no idea the story about Liv and Leo, I knew that I wanted to learn more. I had a hard time getting into the idea of two romance stories to follow, but I did it.

I was surprised by my disappointment in Adante, you could see the feelings that bloomed between them but they were both deciding to hide it, and tear things between them.

The ending was a HEA which is what I needed, but for a while I truly felt that it would disappoint.

The author, Zara, did an amazing job! I do so enjoy their story! Team Talia & Andante forever!

Added Note: This book did not end how I had anticipated it to, so if you like something that keeps you thinking, this is the book for you!

Beautiful Carnage by Heather Ashley

#ARC #HEA #5star

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beautiful Carnage is what is my heart and I think the author did an amazing job at that. This book was incredible and messed up which is quite similar to how I like it.

The story is about Fallon and Cole, it has tropes like fathers best friend, age gap, there is a gang, and lots of br33ding.

Wonderful story and it had an HEA and this story actually had what I love. They didn’t break up with each other and instead there was other plot drama which I loved and what I aim to write as well.

Great job to the author for being progressive and realizing conflict isn’t just a breakup scene or two.

Added Note: As some people know conflict in the storyline of writing does not have to be a breakup scene, and this book did that powerfully.

Just Drinks by Christine Mayfaire

#ARC #HEA #5star #Christmas

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just Drinks is an outstanding tale, of romance, dares, and trying to survive dating in the Christmas Season.

It was amazing! I fell in love with the characters. Michael is a sweetheart, and after their date, I was hoping that they would stick it out.

There was a lot of drama and angst that followed with her ex showing up in the picture, and that plot twist… boy it was one.

The ending, HEA which is exactly what a girl like me needs!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this slow-burn romance filled with a great cast of characters (including LGBT+ community) It screams as a Netflix Christmas film, and I hope one day it hits the big screen.

Added Note: I wasn’t planning on reading a Christmas book in October, but I had to jump on this kind of ARC book.

Alpha by Cheyenne Browning

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Alpha, I don’t know what I had expected, but this book wasn’t planned. I had read a previous book by this author and immensely enjoyed the book. This story had the right amount of action, and romance, and seeing as I’m not very known for reading paranormal books, I learned a lot.

I loved seeing the alpha being a female, (or trying to be) normally in my past romance novels with werewolves they were all male, so that was fun to see in this story.

HEA was awesome, it was also FFF so lots of girl action. Quite a fun story! Awesome and so enjoyable!

She’s a Mad Hatter by S.J. Ransom

#ARC #HEA #5star

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I didn’t know what to think at first it didn’t even feel like a romance story. It felt much more like a mystery, or a thriller, it kind of was creepy in the beginning.

We start off with Maddie who comes from a very abusive home. She has a closer relationship with her brother’s and father’s coworker Drew who just so happens to be a police officer.

I won’t spoil anything but this town is obsessed with Wonderland as in Alice in Wonderland.

Overall this book was incredible the storyline had me intrigued from Page 1, the characters were incredible, and I actually couldn’t tell how this book was going to end. If it was going to be a bad ending or happily ever after, either way I was impressed.

Alpha by Cheyenne Browning

#3star #prompt

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐

I had a hard time with this book…
I have unfortunately a one track mind and seeing that the book had so many characters I got confused quickly. Plus it felt very slow, and dragged on.

It was third person, which I had no problem with, it was also a bit spooky, I read the last bit of the book before bed, and of course I had a tricky time with that.

Added Note: I don’t like horror… I don’t even know why I try anymore.
